About Tidings

A pastor describes an event once, and Tidings uses AI to draft an announcement for each channel, turns the pastor's note to the AV, ministry and volunteer teams into an email and can give the event a sign-up page. Tidings is a free event-promotion tool for church pastors, built by Pure Water Automations, and it comes as a web app and a Google Sheet version.

Why we built Tidings

Announcing one church event can take a Sunday slide, an email, a Facebook post and a group text, plus a note to whoever runs sound and setup. Tidings puts all of those drafts and the team note on one event page.

How Tidings works

A pastor signs in with a Google account and adds the event once, with its name, date, time, place and a line about what it is. Tidings writes a separate announcement for each channel the pastor picks. The pastor reads each draft, copies it to where it goes and ticks it off as shared.

From the same event page, the pastor picks which teams to tell and writes one note about what is needed. In the web app, Tidings opens a single email to all of them, with each address hidden from the others, and records which teams were told. When sign-ups are open, the event gets a public page where people say how many are coming, and posts written after that include the sign-up link.

We built two versions from the same plan, a web app and a Google Sheet, so pastors can try both and tell us which one they would keep using. Both versions draft posts with the same AI.

What Tidings does

  • A post for each channel

Choose from a Sunday slide, email, Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp or text, a flyer, the newsletter and a video script. AI drafts a separate post for each, and you can ask for a fresh set.

  • Drafts you post yourself

Copy each draft to where it goes and tick it off as shared. The event list shows how many of each event's posts you have shared.

  • One note to your teams

Pick the AV team, ministry team, volunteers or any team you add, and write what you need. The web app opens one email in your mail app or Gmail with each address hidden from the others; the Sheet version sends each team its own email.

  • A sign-up page for each event

In the web app, open sign-ups and share the link. People give their name and how many are coming, and you see the running total.

  • Events in your calendar

Subscribe once in Google or Apple Calendar, and every event you add shows up there.

  • Weekly and monthly events

Set an event to repeat every week or every month, and Tidings adds the upcoming dates to your list.

  • A Google Sheet version

Events, posts and team notes kept in a Google Sheet, for pastors who already plan in a spreadsheet.

Questions about Tidings

Does Tidings post to Facebook or send texts for us?

No. Tidings uses AI to draft the posts, and you read each one and copy it to Facebook, your email or your group chat yourself. Tidings never posts anything for you.

Do people need an account to sign up?

No. The sign-up page asks for a name, how many are coming and, if they want, a way to reach them. Only you see the list.
